Hello! This is Vee... again.

This time though it's for a little bit of pre-plotting. On the 13th there is a curse Carla didn't even know she needed!
OCTOBER 13 | Flesh Collage
This curse has an cannibal artist flair! Citizens are driven to slice and dice strangers and friends alike to have a physical part about them that they love the best to own... At least temporarily! Thank goodness this curse is death exempt. I had no idea he liked her...eyes so much.

She will be really super in to this... even if she isn't cursed. So I am looking for volunteers who wish to be sliced, diced, and possibly also consumed.

She would love to include her friends in her artwork, but I am also not currently in the market to ruin all of her relationships right now so... come discuss it with me, maybe we can make it work.

Heyo,

I am looking for someone interested in plotting for the next curse.
24-25; Sing and Shout / Siren Song
Ahhhh who doesn't like the 24 hour sound of music? Singing at random, humming your own montage theme, or melodically dictating your coffee order are all part of this curse. It's especially great if a citizen's not tone deaf, right? Right?? Wrong. The second 24 hours that follows is full of mayhem because for some reason people are drawn to singers' tunes, then drawn to their death. It could make a man walk right into traffic or a woman walk right off her balcony, who wants that kind of guilt?? [Characters killed have a Death Exemption and will not return as City!Dead, although they can't return to play until after midnight either!]

Marie happens to very reactive to incidents such as the Siren Song half of things, and being a paranoid alcoholic is likely to take shots at anything she suspects of trying to take her or anyone's mind like that.

Is anyone up for being the victim of her vigilantism?

Hello, everyone!

As you may have noticed, there's a bit of an uprising in the works, and we all know who definitely isn't to blame for it. Well, Berthier here would like to contribute to the overall pandemonium, because what better time to harvest some Dark Energy, right? For anyone who's ever watched an episode of Sailor Moon in their life, this little scheme will be familiar.

What's Up?
Berthier will be planting an agent ([personal profile] timefor) into the Jasmine Dragon teashop (Around the 28th, I imagine) and it will begin to corrupt customers through the tea being sold.

What's Needed?
Volunteers! I need volunteers to be effected by Dark Energy-infused tea. This causes folks to become angry, nasty, and cruel, especially to others. We also need some heroes to figure it out and save the day. Charlie McGee has already spoken for the killing blow to the droid, but others are welcome to volunteer to investigate/confront it alongside her and Rapunzel.

The droid will be destroyed at/around the end of the month. I will make two posts for this plot: the first will be the droid in disguise on the main comm, and the second will be the confrontation/final battle on the log comm. Neither are mandatory to participate.

And for clarity: the droid will be entirely destroyed at the end, and Berthier will not be revealing herself.

Victims:
1. Uhura
2. Penny
3. Raikov
4. Todd
5. Charles Xavier
6
etc

Heroes:
1. Mrs Charlie McGee
2. Korra
3. Chekov
4. Zack
5. Erik
6
etc

Any questions/comments/concerns, please let me know!

Hello Polychromatids~

I come bearing plots! And you (yes, you) might want to get in on this...

So, the City's own Karl Fei-Ong has made a trade to benefit...someone else (I'll let Karl-mun reveal the details in due time, fu fu fu). As payment for this trade, he has surrendered his right arm to the Deities. His right arm is, to be honest, quite impressive and it really should be put to good use. So the Deities want to make sure that it is put to good use. That's where you come in.

We are in need of four characters to have possession of Karl's arm for one week each, beginning pretty much immediately (or very soon, depending on what sort of background story might be needed).

Among the powers of the arm are...

Drumroll please... )

The story of how each comes to have the arm is pretty much up to you, the player volunteering a character. The Deities might just drop it on your character as a, you know, gift. Or it might be part of a trade. Or it could be a bargain made after your character sees another character will the arm. Details are negotiable. We can work it out here or you can email me (cateyed.crow@gmail.com).

Now the important part: !!L@@K!! ARM 4 RENT !!CHEAP!! LIKE-NEW CONDITION !!L@@K!!

Characters:
1. (10/4-10/11)
2. (10/11-10/18)
3. (10/18-10/25)
4. (10/25-11/1)

Thank you, Poly!!

Who likes when things happen suddenly?! All of you? Awesome! I was debating back and forth whether I should throw the festival Euphie talked about up now or a different Friday. I know it's a holiday weekend, but we're low on curses and it's on my mind?

I'm going to make the post general and put it up in the log comm later tonight. It's a festival in Xanadu. People can come dressed casually and at night there will be a dance. I'll put up subthreads for different activities: General mingle, Booths, Food stands, Entertainment/Street performers, Dance.

Feel free to assume some things are just there, but I also want to encourage people to make their own booths/stands/performances at the festival. Euphie put up a post awhile back with the idea and several people volunteered to help, so please feel free to assume that since that time people have been hard at work and there have been flyers and what not to advertise both participating and coming to enjoy it. Tony Stark donated some funds for it as did Euphie. And I'd like to say various business have booths where things are for sale. There is also a potluck food area since that was an idea many brought up. It's also fine if multiple people have the same kind of thing since the organization was a little fast and loose and Euphie would rather say yes than no!

Possible ideas you can use: Kissing booth. Ring toss. Duck pond. Shooting game. Read your fortune. Corn dog stand. Funnel cakes. Cotton candy. ANYTHING!

Any questions, concerns, etc. leave them here!

POST IS UP!

Now that a Dark Brotherhood chapter has been opened and established in the City, people might start seeing cryptic fliers hidden within the pages of magazines and books.

The fliers are a drawing of a black skull, and written below are the words "Come find us and we'll take care of you." Cryptic, but not too obvious.

Vicente has also written a few books (filled journal books) and hidden them in the library with instructions on how to contact the Brotherhood. The book contains both the Black Sacrement and the secure line the organization may be contacted through.

The Black Sacrement involves getting bone and a heart, then stabbing it with a knife covered in nightshade while praying for the Night Mother. The secure line, OOC-wise, is the same as Vicente's phone post, just for convenience, but it doesn't lead to him, IC-wise.

Also, let it be known that his journal has OOC Brotherhood info and membership to the group is always open.

16 October 2011 @ 02:04 pm
Alright, so I think enough time has gone by that those who want to join the Brotherhood have done their initiation murders. Vicente will be appearing in their next Network posts to formally accept them into the Brotherhood and explain the rules. I will be posting a list of Brothers and the 5 Tenets in Vicente's journal for easy access.

Also, the Police Force can now start thinking that something is up with the weird string of seemingly random murders.

And because the Brotherhood likes free advertizing, rumor may start to bubble up in the City of the Dark Brotherhood. Maybe someone Vicente visited mentioned geting a visit from "some Dark Brotherhood creep" to someone else and word just got around. However, at this time, if ever, members (including Vicente) may NOT be found out and accussed. Just the rumor that a weird cult/murderers/organization is now in town.

It's been over a week and got quite a few players willing to have characters join by now, so I figure it's time for an update now that the monochromatic event is over.

After the 4th Wall event, there will be a post over at [livejournal.com profile] tampered where the actual introductions will take place. On that post, you may have your character sleeping so Vicente may pay them a visit. He will reveal more details on joining during the visits.

Vicente has also learned that the dead might not stay dead in The City, which presents a few problems for the initiation kills. He'll probably be giving the initiates some instructions on not being seen during these kills. Also, I know there were at least two people who just want the visits but not joining, so they can spread word of the Brotherhood, but naming Vicente to the law may prove bad for them.

As I said before, the fact that about five or six people were killed in just one week may attract the law and various do-gooders.

Once again, this will be the day after the 4th Wall Event.

As some of you actually familiar with The Elder Scrolls IV may know, Vicente is a member of a cult/organization called The Dark Brotherhood. Well, Vicente thinks that if he's going to be stuck here, he should start a Brotherhood chapter here in The City. What does that mean? I'll tell you right now.

In order for there to be a club, there has to be members. If someone has murdered in cold blood, a high-ranking member of the Brotherhood comes to pay them a nightly visit and offer membership. If they accept, they are now considered a Dark Silbing and child of the Night Mother (the group's evil patron saint and bride of their god, Sithis). The Sibling is expected to follow the 5 Tenets (which will be elaborated upon by Vicente) and will be given a nice Family and other benefits, like access to the safehouse. They don't have to start worshipping Sithis, but they can't go around talking smack about him. New Siblings are also expected to kill in the name of Sithis in order to be fully accepted, but since the law enforcement is more compitent than it is back home, he may not want to get their attention with a wave of sudden murders happening at the same time. Last but not least, the group revolves around taking contracts for murder, by people who don't want to carry out said murder themselves in exchange for money.

Now, more to the point, here's what I'm looking for: characters who have murdered and would be interested in joining the Brotherhood. If you're interested, Vicente can come visit them at night and extend a membership offering. Unless we get some volunteers for murder victims, most murders will be done to NPCs.

Welcome to the Family. This is Mod-approved.

Update: I recently figured that perhaps we could do the nightly encounters in a big log post at Tampered. That way nobody has to hunt around for five different logs in five different journals and all that.

Also, I'm aware this may get the attention of police and do-gooders and all that. The Brotherhood is used to having enemies, so they can take an interest in the wave of initiation murders.

One more thing: anyone who's caught Vicente's attention may get a picture of a black handprint from an anonymous source in at least one of their posts.

Hello, Polyites! I'm done moving: now the unpacking begins. This means that I can slowly begin catching up with the expedition plot. In the meantime, you are free to make your own posts, troll others, and... watch as everything on the network appears to be turning black and white via the plot. :D But we're safe outside the barrier, ha ha... 'safe'...

Here's a recap of the last week:

17th - land sighted.
18th - attacked by three Sirens, a goddamn kraken, and a sea giant. ffs.

And here's the schedule for the rest of the expedition:

21st - landfall!
23rd - something's happening to the supplies. ):
25th - time to go home!

As always, you can leave me your questions and comments, and I'll try to answer them as I can.

This is just a note that because I'm falling behind a bit, and we still have people who haven't tagged in anywhere, I'm pushing the logs that were supposed to go up this week to the 18th instead, so we'll be combining the 12th, 15th, and 18th's surprises. The weather report will stay the same.

This week is your chance to catch up on what happened, tag around, as well as make your own network posts and talk about the things you've seen. There's more questions being asked than answered at the moment.

As usual, plot overview and contact info is here.

EXPEDITION PLOT

So the plot was supposed to start on the 4th, but I was getting my ass kicked by a really bad cold/flu/something. Oops. I'll be putting up the starter log + sections on the 5th at a more reasonable time (somewhere around noon PST), and we'll be backdating like hell, if that's okay with everyone. EDIT: The log is here!

ATTENTION: there is an AIM chat room for sorting out thread order and such. I will be inviting names as I can find them, but you can join it yourself at polyfieldtrip.

Here's a recap/overview of the plot if you've forgotten.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a comment or contact me in one of many fabulous ways:

Some of you may have noticed I dropped off the face of the community. I've been having RL things and muse issues as usual, but I think I'm ready to hop back in, so if it's all right I'll be backtagging Luke's grab bag post from June. You can ignore those tags if you want... it's been a while. ;;

Other than that, I have some plotting things to get moving that are a month late. Sorry, mods! There's no strict timeline on this one though, so I figured it was best to wait a bit. I'll be making an IC post drumming up interest over the network in a day or two, but this also has an OOC component.

Cinna's opening is thisaway: http://tampered.livejournal.com/919053.html

It's open to everyone in the City, you don't have to know someone who knows someone, ads have been up and around the City for awhile so feel free to come in!

Or just people Nathan's pissed off enough that they actually want to kill him.

Let's face it, this post is long overdue. By now it's crossed over from being a miracle he's lasted this long to me just being plain lazy. And especially with Nathan's own, special death consequence, it's a shame to leave it any longer.

So, if your character's been waiting for the opportunity to kill someone, step right up and we can talk things through. There's currently no limit to how many times I'm going to let him be killed off, so don't worry if someone else already seems to have beaten you to it.

You know that barrier? The one that keeps the island fenced in, preventing anyone, anything from leaving?

It's going down.

Ben here is a convict, farmer, carnival roustabout and the avatar of light-- God's light. His current mission at home is to find his opposite, the usher, and prevent him from causing the apocalypse. Stuck here in the City since November, Ben's been percolating: pressure and nerves building and building. In a last ditch effort to escape the City, he will be tapping into the more enigmatic of his powers. That is, the power to channel God's will and influence the world. In canon, he stopped a dust storm - a classic black blizzard - in fit of anger. In the City, on account of the tumultuous events of late, he'll be able to access his powers and take down the barrier completely.

The barrier will go down tomorrow (28th) at mid-day. I'll post with Ben on the network announcing the barrier take-down. It may not be obvious who caused it based on the post, but by the end of the plot, citizens will certainly know who caused them so much trouble. (And if any characters wish to take actions against him in retaliation - i'd love to plan that!)

What does this mean for your character? A free ticket out of the City for unwilling citizens? Oh, just you wait. ♥ (This plot will tie into another plot run by the mods!)

Any questions? Comments? I'd be happy to answer them.

Mod-approved!

Sorry about being flaky for the past month or so. My inspiration for everything has been a bit off, so I took a little hiatus from posting/tagging and I feel a little better.

Now it's time to get my ass in gear for things. AND THAT MEANS... clearing up some ambiguity I've had since I got here that I can't ignore anymore.

TL;DR: Hymns of Lorelei management, roommates, and people interested in exploring. )

I think that covers everything that's been holding me up for a while.

If you want to drop me a line privately, AIM is heroic BSOD, MSN is chrome@feathery.org and my email is namine@feathery.org. I won't bite, I promise.

Hey Polyites! I have a very small plot opportunity for you here. Eriol likes to lie and tease, and that could quite easily extend to something like, say... prank phone calls. Since you've all got your phone posts started anyway, I thought I'd offer him to call your character and bother them, working on whatever public information you want to share with me. Hopefully a weird prank call is worth making a post or complaint!

Here's an example -- Eriol tells Tyr that he'd better come get the marriage license that he supposedly applied for during grab-bag last month. Ooops, did he actually apply for one?

You don't have to know Eriol or call him back or want to interact with him unless you want to. After all, he's a liar. If you want him to get caught by your character, we can work that out too.

♥ to all~ and mod approved

So Cinna's expansion is going full steam ahead.

If you want to be involved, but don't have time to thread out something IC, fret not! That's what this post is for.

I just want to have an idea on how many people want/plan to be involved. This also goes for anyone that wants to work for Cinna.

While I'm at it, I just wanted to post this so everyone who has invested in Cinna's venture is clear on the details (or lack thereof) and if someone wants to have gotten involved, but wasn't able to play that out in-game, we can hash out details here, too. One thing to note, Cinna will retain at least 51% of the business and honestly, I don't see him giving away a great deal more of the business than he already has. That said, there are alternate methods of repayment and profit-sharing to be had.
Large workshop @ the garage - Owned by Saya - Cinna's paying reasonable rent
Rosella - invested 10 Indigos - no deal for profits, but to be sure, Cinna will be paying her back some way or another. Possibly in many-pocketed dresses.
Road - several hundred Indigos - Road owns 15% of the business
Tony Stark - several hundred Indigos - Tony owns 15% of the business
Solomon - 300 Indigos - He owns 10%
Rudy Miller/Campbell Bain - fifteen Indigos - Rudy owns 2%, Campbell 1%, of the business

Also... anyone have ideas on what Cinna should name this thing?

...I think I'm done now. Whew.
