EXPEDITION PLOT/random slowatus
Some of you may have noticed I dropped off the face of the community. I've been having RL things and muse issues as usual, but I think I'm ready to hop back in, so if it's all right I'll be backtagging Luke's grab bag post from June. You can ignore those tags if you want... it's been a while. ;;
Other than that, I have some plotting things to get moving that are a month late. Sorry, mods! There's no strict timeline on this one though, so I figured it was best to wait a bit. I'll be making an IC post drumming up interest over the network in a day or two, but this also has an OOC component.
EXPEDITION PLOT!
Some of you may recall the barrier plot in Spring. The barriers went down and harpies invaded the City, and it was very nasty business. But while the barrier keeps bad things out, it also keeps things in. Luke wants to know what's past that barrier, and he wants YOUR help.
The loose plan is this: with enough people together, particularly some with the ability to control magic, Luke's group should be able to manipulate part of the barrier to let his team by. They will have enough supplies and food to last for two to three weeks, so this is a commitment!
Luke will be pinging the network specifically for those who are adept at adventuring, as well as those with knowledge of the barrier or shields in general. He has the Key of Lorelei thanks to the most recent plot, and his twin is here, but even that's not enough. So he'll need as many people as he can get.
TL;DR: Luke's goals include the following:
1. Form a small, effective group of adventurers.
2. Find a temporary way past the barrier.
3. Spend about two weeks exploring the world outside of the barrier, and then bring this information back to the residents.
TIMEFRAME: There's no set date for this plot as of yet, but it should equal about three weeks OOCly and ICly-- not including backtagging. Like I said, it's a bit of a commitment, so I only suggest signing up one character.
LIMITATIONS: I originally envisioned a group of ten adventurers max, but I can roll with more. It would defeat the purpose if fifty people came with, but twenty isn't out of the question. I'm honestly more concerned with finding enough magic-oriented types to help Luke with the barrier.
Luke doesn't want to take anyone who's under the age of fifteen (though exceptions can be made), anyone who's super sick or doesn't have the constitution to camp out for a couple weeks, or villains. Drink your evil tea somewhere else.

EXAMPLE
CHARACTER JOURNAL:
Would s/he help with the City barrier?: Yes!
Would s/he be part of the Exploration Team?: Yes!
Anything else?: He'll be bringing the Key of Lorelei with, and maybe bully Asch to help with the hyperresonance thing. That and some help from people who can use magic/channel whatever should be enough to let them by and NOT doom the City... we hope.

CHARACTER JOURNAL:
Would s/he help with the City barrier?: She would, but she doesn't really have any magical abilities.
Would s/he be part of the Exploration Team?: Of course!
Anything else?: Nepeta basically grew up in the wild and has spent a lot of her childhood exploring the EXTREMELY DANGEROUS world of Alternia. She has excellent survival skills, she is able to take on strong animals without breaking a sweat, has an excellent sense of direction, etc. She also knows how to hunt.
Nepeta is under 15, but she would make an awesome explorer. C:

CHARACTER JOURNAL:
Would s/he help with the City barrier?: If there's a way he can. Mechanically?
Would s/he be part of the Exploration Team?: Luke's not leaving him behind even if he tries.
Anything else?: He'll probably work on tech devices to help out in some way or other--communication, water purification, whatever might be useful outside the barrier or for dropping the barrier will be on his project list until the plot's over.
Also skilled swordsman blah blah blah RPG melee DPS.

CHARACTER JOURNAL:
Would s/he help with the City barrier?: He can be convinced to relatively easily.
Would s/he be part of the Exploration Team?:
Yes?Not officially? O__O;; He wouldn't want to be traveling with the group, but he's not going to be too far away and would probably join up with them in the end? What does this even count as?Anything else?: At the point Luke is taken from the game, theoretically Luke should be able to do the second order hyperresonance on his own without realizing it. (Taken from this theory (http://ochazuki.livejournal.com/94732.html) my sister wrote about.) But Asch likely would be more of a
really crankysupervisor and/or assistant to some extent. Also, he can fight and stuff.no subject
Powers are actually dampened somewhat in the City because of game breaking reasons, so he HAS to have assistance. Not just Asch's, but preferably a handful of people.
Sucks to be Jesus.
different account, still ten.

CHARACTER JOURNAL: [Bad username or site: cursed_ninja / @ livejournal.com]
Would s/he help with the City barrier?: yes
Would s/he be part of the Exploration Team?: yes
Anything else?: idk he's pretty skilled with several things, and since he wants to leave pretty badly, he'll help.

CHARACTER JOURNAL:
Would s/he help with the City barrier?: Of course, if he can.
He doesn’t have an ounce of magic but he does have some scans taken of the barrier when it was up, down, and … when he attacked it with the FTO (his mecha). He would share that information with anyone who he felt would do some good with it.
Would s/he be part of the Exploration Team?: No, likely not.
Anything else?: Eagle has a few too many reasons to stay in the City right now, which is a strange twist for him. He might think about going but ultimately stay behind.
And besides he is pretty sick anyway. He might not be able to handle that much trip even with the condition he has not getting any worse.

CHARACTER JOURNAL:
Would s/he help with the City barrier?: He would, but he'd also be on the lookout for...well, harpies.
Would s/he be part of the Exploration Team?: ADVENTURE IS WHAT TALES HEROES DO BEST.
Anything else?: ...he can fight. And cook stuffs. And tickle catastrophes with feathers.

CHARACTER JOURNAL:
Would s/he help with the City barrier?: if there's a way that he can?? he's the knight of time i'm sure he could do something.
Would s/he be part of the Exploration Team?: for sure!
Anything else?: he's a master of flash-stepping and amazing with any sword from shit tier all the way up to god tier.
the catch is that he's insufferable. W H O O P S.

CHARACTER JOURNAL:
Would s/he help with the City barrier?: Yes, if she can. She's a magic user so she should be able to do something
Would s/he be part of the Exploration Team?: Yes
Anything else?: Rose mainly uses wands but can also use them in their original needle form for stabby times. She is only thirteen but she's more than used to dealing with dangerous stuff and is incredibly difficult to scare.

CHARACTER JOURNAL:
Would s/he help with the City barrier?: Oh, very well. (Read: Yes)
Would s/he be part of the Exploration Team?: If he must. (Read: Also yes)

Yeager falling into the villain category and being well beyond the age of 'yay, adventuring' will not sign up for the expedition. Interested in results, yes, but not likely to go. That being said:
1. Will the opening log have people able to see them off? Yeager would like to give something to Guy or Luke if the chance arrives and bid them bye-bye.
2. While Luke and group are conveniently away, can Yeager have permission to add a basement to the eatery? He'd pitch it as storage space, but might put in a hidden room or false bottom for his less than legal dealings if he ever gets around it starting them in Poly.

1. Yep, it will! The sections will be like
- Seeing people off
- Preparing to take down the barrier
- Taking it down
- Barrier falls!
- Other people go home
- ADVENTURE!!!
2. He is welcome to add a basement. B)

Though I am amused that leave Rita, Tyr, and Yeager I believe behind to man the fort. This can only lead to happiness. But have a good rest!

CHARACTER JOURNAL:
Would s/he help with the City barrier?: If she can, yes.
Would s/he be part of the Exploration Team?: Just try and leave her behind.
Anything else?: Healing, recovery, cooking, good observation skills and common sense, all those fun and useful things.
no subject
CHARACTER JOURNAL:
Would s/he help with the City barrier?: Not really. He's not equipped for that.
Would s/he be part of the Exploration Team?: Yes
Anything else?: As previously discussed, his job description is:
Shooting things
Looking fucking hot
killing ghosts
:D He's just there for the monster shooting.
