WHY HELLO AGAIN.

hi there, poly, this is tussah ([livejournal.com profile] courut's player). bringing you another socially maladjusted teenager per by mici's request! this here is nigel colbie, one of the main characters from the psychological thriller (i guess?) like minds. if you haven't heard of it, i don't blame you don't worry, and if you have YOU GET A COOKIE. in a nutshell, it's sort of like a british version of murder by numbers in that it is a modern take on two teenage boys rife with homosocial panic who turn out to be serial killers (re: real-life serial killers leopold and loeb). only difference being that nigel is completely delusional and believes he and his murdering partner are descendants of the holy order of the knights templar.

...no. seriously.

so basically, mention destiny or knights to nigel and he may try to convince to go whack some people in order to inherit eternity. this is how nigel makes friends. he also likes chess, taxidermy, ignoring personal space and cutting of his loved ones' heads. i look forward to building lasting bonds of friendship and mayhem in the future.

so, if you'd please: friend add his_instrument or [livejournal.com profile] his_instrument away.  and if you feel like watching an hour and a half's worth of eddie redmayne and tomstu glaring at one another, check out the movie.  :P

yeah i definitely think that the scope of nigel's delusions allow it to go to some PRETTY CREEPY places. i've actually seen murder by numbers but that was ALSO a super long time ago and i've actually forgotten in the end WHICH ONE OF THE TWO was the 'bad guy' or if i'm just mistaking it for like minds.

it's just too bad that alex isn't here. nigel is crazyface to the nth degree but between him and alex, i've always thought of alex as the big bad.

See, Alex and Nigel both creep me out, but there's something about Nigel that scares me so much that I had nightmares after I watched that movie. And it's not just the quiet creeper thing, because hello, Justin. I think Alex and Nigel are both fairly irredeemable, but Alex is more straightforward and less... dissection and stuff. I would avoid them both, personally!

Um. Murder by Numbers is... vague. There are a few million interpretations to go with. Justin actually did the killing, but Richard is more actively... evil? Although one could certainly make an argument for Justin being a true, ten-out-of-ten sociopath, I view Richard and Justin as hopelessly misguided instead of evil. Alex and Nigel? Far more sinister in my book. I didn't feel bad for them at the end of their movie; I felt sympathetic towards Richard and Justin.

But yes! Interpretations. Don't watch Murder by Numbers again. Sandra Bullock's performance and the movie in general are awful; I just find Justin and Richard interesting.

Like Minds = better movie + crazier crazy + more sinister sinisterness. True facts.
