Annie is so lucky....well, sort of. I mean, she's lucky about Finnick, not the insanity or Game related trauma...

I cried so hard for Mags. Poor Mags. :(

Though personally, I'm really desperate to find out what Haymitch's great tragedy is. BECAUSE YOU KNOW HE'S HIDING ONE. THAT MAN IS ABOUT FOUR THOUSAND TIMES MORE DEVIOUS THAN ANYBODY REALIZES. He is up to something and it is going to be glorious when it comes out.

My secret bet is that if Peeta lives, he becomes president (or the new leader of whatever new political system is formed). He's got the charisma, and where Katniss was the symbol of revolution, I bet Peeta ends up being the symbol of the new order.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I like this plan.

They did make it a point to note that of the Victors in the Quarter Quell, Peeta is the most decent of all of 'em. Also, he's always shown that desire to hold the Capitol accountable for the shenanigans they pull and to stick it to them in his own quietly rebellious ways. I think he's got what it takes to be the next president.

Which would also play into their "star-crossed lovers" bit. They're pretty consistently shown to each have strengths that cover for the other's weaknesses, so if you take Katniss as the revolution half of the equation, that leaves Peeta for the post-revolution administrative side of it.

Also, it's better than him dying. >> And since I really can't see Katniss being happy to be the president's wife, it would also leave her and Peeta forever connected while still giving them an out so they don't have to do the romance stuff. Because at this point, I'm honestly betting that she won't end up with either Gale or Peeta.

I want her with one or the other, I'm just romantic like that, but I like the idea of Peeta being in charge.

I'd like her to end up with Peeta, but at the same time, I also feel like there's no real satisfactory way to resolve that triangle except for having her end up with neither. I mean, she cares about them both and is tied to them both in different ways, and I feel like it would set a bad precedent to have her actually pick one over the other.

Those books make me cry so much...Mags death was just so painful, because of how much it hurt Finnick...D:
Of course, I had to stop reading, get some tissues, and watch Spongebob for about an hour to feel better before I could continue on after Rue's death. Truefacts.

HE SO IS. I WANT TO FIND OUT WHAT. Haymitch, you magnificent bastard, TELL ME YOUR SECRETS.

Peeta would be so good as a political figure...he's got the right head on his shoulders!

Haymitch is such a magnificent bastard. You just know he's gonna pull some shenanigans in the last book and remind us all just how damn smart he really is, underneath all the drinking and perfectly-crafted lies.

They do play up the point of his charisma a lot! Between that and the fact that he's actually a decent kid, I think it's a fair signal that politics might be on the horizon for him. :D

He's gonna do something EPIC. And I cannot wait to see it!! He drinks to hide his awesomeness!!!

:D I love Peeta, and if he was running for president, I think I would vote for him.
