Precautionary Slowatus (or: Why, Computer, Why???)
Sooo... Something amazing and annoying is happening with my keyboard at the moment. All of a suddaaen [sic]. See that? See, if I hit the "D" button for too long or too hard, it comes up with both d and a (daaddaaaaddaa <--for example). This is awesome
I'm thinking this may finally be the hardware failure to end all hardware failures with this computer (hell, it's five years old, at least, and has a busted hinge, a failing ethernet port, no USB capabilities, no CD or DVD capabilities, and a nicked screen, to say nothing of the numberous virus attacks I've endured).
Anyway, just a notice here that, if I vanish or lag or get slow with tags, it's because I'm fed up with this annoyance. Likewise, this whole thing may just mean that my computer is in its daeath [sic] throes andaa [sic] I may vanish until I can wrangle a new machine or a fix for this one. We shall see. I'm not gone, I'm just going "arrrrgh!!" for a bit. I'm still here! It's just taking me longer to type tags and so on.
tl;dr: Caru's computer wants its "Da Da" apparently >:| And if anyone has a fix for this, I'd love to hear it.
This goes for:

Whenever my keyboard acts strange, it usually resolves itself when I turn the computer off, then unplug and re-plug the keyboard cable. Buuut I suppose you've tried something as easy as that.
Otherwise yes, might be the hardware dying. :|
no subject
Alas, I have a laptop, so I can't really unplug anything ;; So I may be really, really daoomeda ;;

I see. DOOMED FOREVER AND EVER, then. Just simple rebooting tends to help sometimes too, though. I remember I had an error once when the space key wrote a's instead of - well, spaces.
PERHAPS IT JUST WANTS YOU TO WRITE AN INTERNET FATHER'S DAY CARD.
no subject
I did try rebooting, but I only left it off for a few moments. Now, maybe this is all superstitious behavior, but we'll see if it improves when I turn it off and leave it off overnight. Otherwise, well, glad I have some emergency funds at the moment ._.v
FINE. I'LL DO THAT TOO.

RESPECTING IT'S E-DADA WISHES IS BOUND TO HELP.

At least it's only going "DAA DAA DAA" instead of "DRR DRR DRR (http://brasscockroach.com/h4ll0w33n2007/manga/Amigara-Full/Amigara.html)".
'Cause, y'know. Then I'd be really worried.

Err, I have to say the only time I had an issue like that I kind of. destroyed the computer through over-abuse of the keyboard @_@ so I can't necessarily offer any help. But, depending on the make of your machine can you pop the keys off and back on? :X Cleaning underneath them might resolve it, or at least lessen the severity of the issue. If you can't, you might want to give a go with a paintbrush and some canned air?
GOOOOOD LUCK <3
no subject
Well, I've poppeda the keys off anda brusheda aundaaer there a bit--got quite a bit of cruda out, but it's still daoaing it. Canneda air will be the next step, methinks. Otherwise...it's hardaware failure daoom.
THANK YOU <3333

What about it? HAPPY BLOOMSDAY~!!

Good luck getting it all worked out, bb!
And ffff wow. 5 year old computer? .__. I can barely keep mine for two or three years before they die. This one's a little over a year and my keyboard is all worn so half my keys now read like large black blobs rather than letters. >>

THANK YOU!! It'll be fine. If anything, I'll just be slow on tags because I'm all, "ARGH!! STOP IT!!"
no subject
Hope you can figure out what it is! Computer troubles are the worst imho.
no subject
Thank you! It may just be hardware failure, but we'll see. I'll just endure a sick keyboard for a while if that's what it comes to. It's not so bad as it could be.
