Hey guys! Just a heads up, but it seems like there's a trojan going around LJ. It doesn't seem to be an ad either, since I'm getting junk while on a paid account. Using noscript to turn off javascript on livejournal seems to help, though! My antivirus hasn't thrown a fit since I disabled it, so I think it might be a good fix for the time being.

BUT ANYWAY, please be careful, everyone!

It looks like it's just Avast!, guys. There's nothing actually wrong with LJ! Sorry if I scared anyone. I was just making sure people knew in case there really was something wrong!

Just as a note (because I freaked out when I saw your note about this ah ha ha ha), LJ Support knows about this issue: http://www.livejournal.com/support/

Apparently, it's Avast! that's giving you these warnings and not LJ:

"Users using Avast! anti-virus software are seeing trojan horse warnings when loading various LiveJournal pages. LiveJournal staff have investigated these reports and have determined that there is no infection on the LiveJournal site, including the files served by the l-stat.livejournal.com domain, but rather that a change in Avast!'s heuristics/definitions files has caused them to incorrectly flag the loading of some LiveJournal JavaScript files. Avast! users should contact the Avast! support department directly to report this issue."

OH, alright. salkdgj I was sorta freaked out about it too since my antivirus was going crazy every time I actually loaded an actual page on LJ, and I heard that others were having a problem with it, too. :

No, no, it's cool! I mean, really, even false positives are kind of concerning. But, yes, word on the street is that it's Avast! pitching a fit over some of LJ's Javascrpt.

I was busy trying to figure out how I could post with NoScript blocking Javascript--fail ;;

But all's well that ends well, yes?
