Social Club Plot for 6/21
Hey Poly! Guess what?!? Your resident evil crazy people have decided to get organized and make a statement to the city, a 'test of the waters' if you will.
That's right, the Social club organized by our very own Major has decided to give the city a taste of real chaos. Through the works of various members, the Club has created a series of poisons which they will be releasing into the city at large.
What does this mean for you and your characters?
Well potentially nothing. The poisons are going to be released in highly concentrated doses into mediums which will disperse the poisons quickly, but also create the possibility of people not getting affected, as they aren't exposed to the poison in a dose large enough to affect them. As such:
THIS PLOT IS ENTIRELY OPTIONAL AND MOD APPROVED
Now, should you choose to be involved, there are several different ways your character can get be part of the fun. Your character can fall into one, or more, of the following roles; Victim, Healer, or Investigator. In an effort to make sure that everyone is on the same page for the plot, and to give everyone the opportunity for their character to shine we've sketched out a general idea of how the different roles will interact with the plot, as well as a time line for the plot.
-Victim-
Victims during this plot will be the bread and butter of what is going on. They will be the people exposed to one or more of the poisons and will be the focus of the other two groups for at least the first day. We'd like to get as many victims as possible for the plot, so if you've got a character that you want exposed to things go for it. You don't need to sign up for anything to be a victim, just take a peek at the list of poisons we're going to be using and take note of the different symptoms your character would be showing. You can show one, or all of the symptoms, and be infected on the first day through the last day of the plot, it's entirely up to you. Just remember, not everyone is susceptible to all the different poisons, if you don't drink water you're not gonna fall prey to the poison that is being dispersed in the water. Also remember that just because you're cured doesn't mean you can't get infected again. We've also included some 'clues' you can give to the Healers and Investigators about each poison. Try to limit yourselves on this one to one or two clues only, so that everyone can give some good bits of knowledge to the rest of the city.
-Healer-
Healers will play a big role in the beginning of this plot. Because everyone is being infected at about the same times and from all different parts of the city, the poisoning will appear, at the start, as if it were several major diseases infecting the city all at the same time. Healers you're the ones that will get to figure out it's not really a disease, but is in fact a poison that is causing the problems. To prevent the possibility of one character just exploding with all the answers we are going to ask that Healers 'reserve' the privilege to discover each diseases true nature. How you discover it is entirely up to you. It could be because it resists standard treatment, you could find something in a blood sample, you could be someone with magic that is able to divine the truth. Whatever your method is fine with us. In the beginning we're going to limit 1 poison per healer, or groups of healers, for the purposes of discovery, but if we don't get enough people signing up for the poisons, then we'll open it up to let healers do more.
-Investigator-
Investigators will be important for the end of this plot. AFTER the Healers start to realize that the poisons aren't diseases we expect that the police, private investigation groups, and those near and dear to the infected will start to look for the source of the poisonings. The Victims will have some clues for each poison that you can get by interviewing them (remember each victim should only be giving you one or two clues) and you'll be able to track down the various mechanical dispensers throughout the city. We'd like to keep it to at least one dispenser per poison but no more than five dispensers for any individual poison. To keep things open to as many people as possible, if you're an Investigator person, please 'reserve' one of the dispensors for yourself, or your group to allow as many different people to Shine for this plot as possible. This means we need anywhere from 5-25 different Investigator groups. Large groups, like the Police Force, can sign up with various 'teams' that claim 1 dispenser each, allowing the larger groups to be a bit more effective. You might want to take note of which healer has 'reserved' the poison which you are hunting the dispenser for and approach them with a way of getting knowledge about what is going on with said poison.
-Poison List-
This is a list of the five poisons we'll be releasing into the city, each poison will have a Name, a list of symptoms and the time it takes for these symptoms to develop, the means through which the poison infects (i.e. Water, Air, Touch, etc), some information about the poison for the Healers to work with and the Clues and Locations for the Dispenser.
Currently used poisons:
1.) Cantarella - Causes the victim to vomit significant amounts, if left untreated victim will begin to vomit blood and then die. Large doses of poison can cause the individual to die without showing other symptoms. Symptoms take place several hours after exposure, with shorter times for larger doses. Cantarella is spread through ingestion, meaning you have to eat it. It is being dispensed into the water supplies of 1-5 major restaurants (if you want your restaurant to be one let us know otherwise it's just 5 NPC restaurants) causing food to become infected when it is washed.
Clues: Slight nausea immediately after eating infected food, but very mild. Infected on the same day you were eating out. Sicker people would have eaten dishes prepared in more water, such as lobster or boiled vegetables, or that drank water while eating out.
Locations: 1-5 Major restaurants (exact number pending Investigators that wish to solve this poison). Dispensers are attached to main water main, each dispenser contains a large vial of poison, pumping into water every few hours.
Healer - Faust -
bonenecromancer
Investigators (5 possible) - Vicki
ariselikefire; Clow -
i_themagician (Looking for team to join); Sasazuka -
98over40 (Police Group); The Doctor -
sciencegeekchic
Restaurants - Seventh Heaven
2.)Enhanced Ebola - Causes the victim to have fevers, mild hallucinations and, if left untreated, internal bleeding. The larger the dose the worse the symptoms, which takes place anywhere for 30 minutes to a few hours after exposure to the viruse. Ebola spreads through the air and is highly communicable from those infected and is being dispensed into the air through the Air Conditioning units within the city.
Clues: A slight cough will begin almost immediatly after exposure that gets worse the longer the victim is being exposed. Notice that being around sick people with this particular disease will also make others sick.
Locations: 1-5 dispensers in the Air Conditioners for the city at large, in the units with holes cut into the filters to allow the diseases to flow easily.
Healer - Martha -
miss_jones
Investigators (5 possible)- Sagara -
not_an_amateur (Police Group); Watari -
scienceinacan
3.)Emerald Forest - Causes those that touch it to take the appearence of death and, in large doses, die. Symptoms range from simple unresponsive hands to inability to move, muslces not listening to you all the way to possibility of death. This poison affects the nervous system and works through touch and is sprayed on door handles throughout the city.
Clues: Tingling sensation after opening doors with poison sprayed on them, then collapsing.
Locations: 1-5 small robots will be flying around the city late at night spraying the poison on various door handles. During the day the robots reside in Blitza's shop.
Healer - Shiki -

4.) Magic Black Plague - Causes the symptoms of the Black Plague of the midevil times. Specifically boils, and dark blotches on the skin. This plague is spread as the original was, through rats that are infected and roaming the city under a magical compulsion to be near others.
Clues: Squeaking noises, possible rat bites on the infected, no dead rats appearing in the city (plague is magical does not affect rodents but can affect anything else that bleeds.)
Locations: 1-5 rats nests in the city, rats are born and injected with virus by a machine then sent out to cause trouble throughout the city.

5.) Joker Venom - Cause infected individuals to have a euphorice feeling, making them smile and laugh continously. Minorly infected individuals will find that everything is funny and will giggle incoherently at random times, while those severly infected will find themselves continously laughing unable to perform even the simplest functions. This poison is spread through the air in a cloud of gas.
Clues: When walking through a poisoned area the air is a little thicker and might be discolored slightly. Remember a soft humming noise before being overcome with the giggles.
Locations: 1-5 gas dispensers attached to large robotic planes dispensing the gas as they fly overhead, quietly.
Healer - House -

-Timeline-
This plot is going to take place over a course of 4 days. We have broken up a general idea of when we'd like certain events to happen within these 4 days, to help us to keep things moving, but without everything just being realized all at once.
Day 1 (Saturday - 6/21): Infection
The first day is when all the poisons will be released into the various methods of dispersal. People will begin to see the starting of some of the symptoms and the Healers will start their treatment of the sic victims.
Day 2-3 (Sunday - Monday - 6/22 6/23): Realization
The second and third days the Healers can start to piece together stuff about the poisons, figuring out that they are in fact not diseases and begin getting the Investigators involved.
Day 3-4 (Monday - Tuesday - 6/23 6/24): Hunt
The third and fourth day the Investigators get to start searching for the dispensers and shutting them down. Careful! That's concentrated poison there, it's possible you might expose yourself to a huge dose in the process resulting in you getting sick too!
Day 4 (Tuesday - 6/24): Revelation
The fourth day the clues on the dispensors will lead the various Investigators to the shop of Blitza Airflier. The goblin designed and built the machines in private (some of his shop may notice him working on a special project out of sight but none were ever able to see it) and then set the dispensers up for a hefty sum as well as access to a batch of plot for all the poisons (which the doctors can use to manufacture cures for the rest of the city). What happens after that is up to the Investigators and the city.
Just a reminder, this is not a curse and should you choose to have one of your characters die from the poisons, then your character will be CityDead and not return to life after it's over.
If you have any questions please let us know, and kudos to the plot goes to the entire Social Club as everyone contributed to the plan, I just happen to be the one that posted it.
EDIT:
A clarification to avoid some confusion. Anyone is welcome to partake in investigations and be part of the plot as a healing or anything. Signing up for the plot means that you are reserving the right to either discover the truth behind the poisons OR to find one of the dispensers. EVERYONE can investigate but only those groups that sign up find dispensers during the panic/investigation.
