A school post just for you! As you know, this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday is Back to School You Fool. To recap:

24-26; Back to School You Fool
Day 1: Congratulations you made it through the first day of school! But now it's Tuesday and it's time to really get to know your teachers and peers, because they're going to get to know you better whether you like it or not.

Day 2: Clubs clubs clubs! They want you to join! Honor societies, sororities, fraternities, geek campaigns, magic circles, everyone's got something to offer and they want you to join their ranks...if you're good enough anyway.

Day 3: Today you get to find out if you were up to snuff for the club of your choice. Be prepared to shine or cry.

Here is a list of schools in which your characters may enroll as students, teachers, or general staff from custodian to counselor (however no character is allowed to fulfill a head position like Headmaster or Principal as these will be taken by deities). They are the same institutions from last year's Fast Times at City High curse, so if you were in the game at the time and wish to carry over continuity from that curse you may, just please be clear and work with other players who may want to play with something different this year! Keep in mind that these are just the major city schools complete with new (but temporary) buildings located within walking distance of the Square. You are free to have characters come from smaller institutions (one or two moderately sized buildings instead of complete campuses) of your own creation within reason, but if you're unsure don't hesitate to ask in this post! The City will simply make space for all the schools in the way the City magically expands sometimes for curses.

Characters may revert to younger ages or age up to fulfill positions of your choosing. Characters may also be affected in a way that makes them believe they have always been in school, complete with an AU background history of having gone to one of the elementary schools or having transferred from a teaching position at the public school to a private school, etc. etc. Feel free to run with it!

The Club Event on Wednesday is an egalitarian event put on by various organizations from all the schools. This is where you come in! You may have your character form a club or become a member of one--or try to become a member of one. Clubs can be as easy to get into or as hard to get into as you like. Clubs can have a set of requirements for entry or a single test characters need to perform for acceptance. Make it as welcoming or as elite as you'd like. There will be music and food and entertainment venues in the Square courtesy of the Deities. Sign up is not necessary for attendance, so even unaffected characters can crash the party. You are free to have your characters hold their own private promotions parties as well in the spirit of sorority, fraternity, or general school rivalry.

These campuses will disappear and the city layout will return to normal at midnight (12:00am/00:00 EST August 27), but if you want characters may keep a small possession as a souvenir of their time. This can be their school uniform, pompoms, or a club pin for example, but it must be something of no significant magical, scientific, or monetary value.

Comment with your character, your character's position as teacher or student, their class and their teaching style, or your character's student year and if they have been at the school or are a transfer, etc.

For clubs, comment with a club your character would like to run and under which school. There can be multiple clubs with the same focus for each school and clubs from different schools are welcome to compete with each other for new members!

You do not have to sign up to a school or a club in order to participate in the curse! This is purely for ease of reference and organization which some players may find helpful. Thanks and hope you guys have fun with this one ♥

Merry Weather is headed to Trinity Hall Girls School, as a sixth grader. She will be a (junior?) officer of the Girls Going Places club, which is just a nice little club for outgoing girls just like her who have interests in exploring, adventuring, and all around safe, happy, supportive, and nurturing girl fun time. And here's the bit where I'm going to be a dumb Brit. I've found a list of classes in American high schools. The only computer class (besides Keyboarding) I see on it is Introduction to Computers. Are there others and I'm just on a crap site, or is this less basic than it sounds?

He's "that" teacher- the one everyone always knows is just one sexual harassment charge away from being fired. Who corrects people and humiliates those who make mistakes, but will screech and pitch a fit if anyone dares try and correct him. Shamelessly effeminate, morbid, and receiver of much student hatred- but easily bribed for extra credit by those who know how to play him.

As for clubs, he'd likely be advising a poetry club or something like that if anyone's interested.

In what has somehow become tradition, here is Westerberg High's Sexual Education Instructor, Ms. Nemu Kurotsuchi.

She's blunt, she has little to no social skills, but she both scare the crap out of students with knowledge of the dangers of STDs, while also being somehow capable enough to answer questions like "but how do I get the condom on without using my hands". Your go-to for the free contraceptives and sexual advice, with the obligatory "but abstinence is what you should probably try for" disclaimers.

Club wise, though, she'd be involved in science clubs! As either an adviser, or an assistant-type thing.

Going to get gutsy and de-age Hazuki here back to high school, to be a Trinity Hall 12th grader. Quiet, a loner, probably nursing crushes on fellow students that go nowhere fast.

Club wise, I'd have her involved in something very traditional (she comes from an old Japanese crime family ahum...), like flower arranging, or likewise... lady-like activities at which she excels but probably doesn't particularly enjoy.

He likes to multi-task, or rather, keep his schedule busy and for some people one thing isn't enough. Peter is one of them. With the degrees to teach as far as University level, he has opted in the usual year for high school, but he never elaborates on why, mostly because people don't know he teaches University in the summer anyway, sometimes as an in-residence Professor abroad. Anyway, he does have TAs, despite it being high school level...and mostly because said high school simply set up his interviews and said pick two. So he did.

His "club" is the intramural stuff, which he'll be mentioning try-outs for...not technically a club yes oh well sob. If someone starting an actual club needs a sponsor...go ahead and approach him about it 8)

Into being neat and clean and building up student morale, Emma is not a fan of the teachers who are less kind in their methods (vicodincrutch) but she does what she can in general for the student body be the daily "crisis" an actual meltdown or simply something about Myspace/Facebook/Your Internet Network of Choice...not that there can't be a meltdown for real over that either...cough. She is fashionable, punctual, and a little high strung under that perfectly coiffed hair. But she does the best she can and is generally optimistic, wanting to help and trying to remember every students' name. Often she is willing to stay after hours if the student doesn't want to spend their lunch hour in her spic and span office.

Will attempt to help any club----that doesn't sound disastrous or dirty...mostly. Would especially be keen on promotion of a GLEE Club.....I have no IC explanations atm why ahaihojelkds....

Not too much to say here. Back of the class, good grades, says not a word, but happens to always get paired with either Claire Bennet or Peeta Mellark (if this is okay with a Mici <3) depending on the class. Something about blonds maybe. Dawn if you see this, maybe we can figure out a way to involve her and Cinna too idk /uncreative at 4:20AM ;; but yes...guardian maybe...

Not big on clubs but she practices at the local archery range and is probably the best shot you've ever seen. Almost. Anyone looking to recruit? Assuming the archery place--one of however many--is common/public, could be any school hunting for a key shooter...well, at first at least.

Attending under pretense of scholarship, not that anyone knows that except maybe Christopher, his roommate and a few particularly sharp teachers. It's a cover you see, because he is of wealthy background and mildly infamous too though not for the best of reasons, both uncles being crooks and one who got rich off of it while the other...did not. The second has sent him away to this place with a fake last name, having heard the rich uncle is here. Conrad's job is to report back to him, but he finds himself more tied up with photography class and his roommate who is turning out to actually be his first friend. At the age of 17....yes it's a little sad. He knows.

Not even subtly based off of Jess from Gilmore Girls, Peter has been transformed into a delinquent who is actually pretty smart but will blow off class to waste his hours in a library reading what he wants...which he does regularly. Teachers may recognize him and sigh and roll their eyes as must be customary now...since by some miracle he's made it to the 12th grade. Don't ask how. Bribes may have been involved. No clubs. No sports. No way, no how. ...but he does like poetry hur hur...

And has sort of been set up with a potential 'arranged marriage' - more like extremely strong hints from other parts of the family and hers - to date and be with a certain blond haired beauty. His brother teaches at the private high school so perhaps if you have a student at the Ohtori Academy or Westerberg who need advice on how to deal with Mr. Pevensie? I'm always up for this shenanigan.

Eden Mac Cionaoith [Westerberg High school, junior] - she the impossible case. She cuts class, ditches, deals drugs under the bleachers. What I am looking for her: a parental figure (not necessarily a parent, a teacher or an older friend) who has taken it upon themselves to try and make her 'realize her potential'.

Peeta Mellark [Westerberg High School, junior] - in L-O-V-E with a certain fellow student but 'no one knows' meaning, naturally, everyone knows. Works in his family bakery after school, is constantly being scouted for sports teams but has a mysterious reason to have an out of P.E.

Lucy Pevensie [Ohtori Academy, senior] - Aged up a bit! She plays on the lacrosse team and is a huge flirt, but because her brother teaches there he can 'keep his eye on her' (Haku, is that okay?) She's that girl who knows everyone in high school in the City AND their business, so if you want her to know something about your character please let me know, or if you need someone to move information, Lu can do that.

Kenny Potter [TA] - TA to a Mr. Peter Pevensie. He's otherwise a college student who sort of has his head in the clouds ALL THE TIME. But up for relationships/backstory!

Eddie Blake [Westerberg High, PE Teacher] - you know that football coach that lives off the pain and suffering of everyone? The PE teacher who yells obscenities at the kids because they are failures and the rope is stronger than they are? The one who clearly came from hell to provide the children of an otherwise innocent school with a dose of fear?

Angela will be a teacher at Westerberg High, teaching two courses: Figure Drawing (any students willing to be a model, obviously non-nude. No jail time for Miss Ange lol) and Human Anatomy and Physiology. (Was I the only one in a school where the gym teacher taught science and the history teacher taught like... Spanish at the same time? LOL)

Also, she will be teaching adult classes once a week or something in Basic Computering for all those adults in the City that still don't know how to use a Network device. (Brennan, Sookie, and Angel-- I'm looking at YOU. First lesson: HOW TO TURN THINGS ON.)

Teaching style is very loose, hands on, and creativitly based. She'll give a bit of freedom (think no homework on long weekends/holidays), but you have to give your fair share. Also no commentary on her micromini skirts. (Hi Damon.)

Oh sob. Chase will be a student (17 y/o I have no idea what American grade that is) but this has crept up on me so I haven't made any solid plans. HALP. He really should be at Cutlers Grammar but so much fun is going on at Westerberg High that I'd love to get him involved there too s-somehow maybe. I haven't quite decided on whether he'll be the competitive little kissass with no idea of social mores around the female of the species that he actually was at school, or more like the reasonably smooth competitive little kissass he is now, either. PROBABLY trying to hide his hopelessness with dorkish attempts at smooth.

He excels at all his classes through a combination of high aptitude and painfully hard work and will endeavour to join all clubs that might impress his parents. Also absolutely in a variety of sports teams (possibly as deputy captain) and an orchestra (violin).

Would like:

Reasons for him to be involved somewhere at Westerberg despite attending Cutlers. Because I am greedy.

Teachers to be a pet of (in his canon the term is lapdog). If you kick him occasionally and for no good reason he will like you MORE. Strong classical subjects ideally - english, science, maths, latin, history ETC.

Friends-ish. Aquaintances through extra curricular activities or family connections is absolutely fine.

Enemies- he may have accidentally climbed over you to ensure his position as top of the class once or twice, or fed you misinformation to blemish your perfect attendance record.

Hmm, considering Chase's b-day is in Feb, he would be either towards the end of his junior year (11th grade, if this takes place pre-summer) or the beginning of his senior year (12th grade if this takes place now). Either one is realistic (I graduated at 17)

Ginny Weasley | Westerberg High | student/football player

This redhead will be a junior (11th grade) student at Westerberg! Staying true to how she's been described in canon, Ginny is that unusually pretty/popular girl with the six older brothers who will Do Things To You if she's looked at the wrong way. Potential suitors, you have been warned! Her popularity is less about her looks and more about her family legacy in that her brothers have come and made their mark on the school (sports, academics, etc) so if you don't know her, you definitely know one of the other Weasleys.

That being said, Ginny is your typical student in all other ways. Works hard to get excellent marks, aiming for a scholarship at the University - her family's economic status isn't exactly common knowledge but it isn't a secret either, so a lot of her motivation comes from there - and loves sports. Loves sports. She is most definitely on the football (soccer) team as a centre forward/striker and she's damn good at it, too. No surprise, since her brother Charlie was once captain of the boy's team back in the day! Extremely charismatic, loves to be surrounded by friends but not necessarily a posse - she is a genuinely nice and down-to-earth sort of girl (never forget where you come from, etc). Teachers, she is that cheeky student ("Oh, another Weasley, all the same") who, despite her cheek, is usually on top of her work and knows what she's doing.

Her romantic relationship status is excellent gossip fodder with all its complications. Her boyfriend - or is it ex-boyfriend? - Harry Potter is at another school far away, though it wasn't always that way. One rumour could say that she and Harry broke up because neither wanted to deal with the distance (and she's therefore free to be woo'd) and another rumour says that they are attempting to work through the long-distance. Which is true? Which do you believe? WHO KNOWS.

PRE-EXISTING RELATIONSHIPS, DO WANT! Friends, classmates, teammates, potential suitors brave the wrath of her brothers, anything and everything! I am down for it all!

Robert Chase

Through a combination of naturally high aptitude and painfully hard work is a straight A senior at Cutlers Grammar. He has a particular reputation for being an all round lapdog / teacher's pet, although he seems to work hardest for the teachers who make life more difficult. He is a prefect, and the sports captain of the school. He also plays violin in the Chamber Orchestra and first violin in a multi-school orchestra. And sings in the choir. He's kind of a brat, but has gotten past the stage of unpopularity due to cleverness to become one of the better known faces in the school.

Working on the basis that such benefaction will boost his college application, Chase is a classroom assistant and out of school tutor for the science classes at Westerberg High. At weekends he can be found either helping to coach the Westerberg [UNDECIDED BUT POSSIBLY SOCCER] team, or trying to hand their arses back to him when it's a Cutlers V Westerberg match.

WLTM:

Teachers at Cutlers to be a pet of (in his canon the term is lapdog). Harsh male disciplinarians who are liable to make him feel six inches tall for no good reason are liked MOST. Strong classical subjects ideally - english, science, maths, latin, history ETC.

Science Teachers at Westerberg to assist. Any teacher at Weserberg may have found him willing to do their copying and flash a winning smile now and then.

Friends-ish. Schoolmates at Cutlers or acquaintances through extra curricular activities or family connections, perhaps.

Westerberg students to tutor in science or help with sports. Cutlers team buddies.

Enemies. He may have accidentally climbed over you to ensure his position as top of the class once or twice, or fed you misinformation to blemish your perfect attendance record. If you're at another school, he may have made a disparaging remark about your lack of education.

Probably teaching something, somewhere. I haven't decided yet. T_T I'm torn between having him do art courses or maybe... biology, he could be the creepy teacher in charge of letting you cut those fetal pigs up? He could always do both, idk. Biology, Human Anatomy, and Life Drawing? >3 Last year he was a student, but I don't feel like doing that again. Probably. IDK. Anyone want to borrow him?

Along with his BFF and his identical twin brother, is at Cutlers. THERE WILL BE A DEAD POETS SOCIETY FORMED in the course of this curse, and if I can swing it it may stick around in some form-- probably more in the sense of occasional informal poetry reading/appreciation sessions than proper DPS meetings, BUT if your character is interested in that, it might be worth poking at it during the curse to help get the ball rolling! ;D

James Wilson

... is in fact no longer James Wilson. He's at Cutler's with his identical twin brother. He's got a stellar GPA, but he seems more interested in helping others than in his own success. He's an active part of the student body, working hard to reach out to less popular students and making efforts to ensure that new students feel welcome. He's active in community service, tutoring and mentoring. He also plays tennis. If all of this just happens to make him look good, well, that's just a convenient bonus.


Todd Anderson

... is a shy student at Cutler's. His closest friend is responsible for pushing him into most of his social interaction. He does well in his classes, though he doesn't speak up very often. Those who pay more attention may know that he spends his time alone writing in a notebook that he guards carefully against prying eyes; there's obviously more going on inside his head than he gives voice to. He's gentle and kind, well-humored with the few students he is closer to, careful and thoughtful about his academics, and an excellent performer on the soccer team... even if he'd rather have tried rowing.


Jessica Hamby

Jessica will be human for this curse; she's at the top of her class at Trinity Hall Girls School. She plays the clarinet beautifully in the orchestra, completes her assignments with skill and punctuality, and always behaves as a perfectly refined young lady. Occasionally, you may catch her cracking a smile at an inappropriate joke, or lingering too long by the public high school, straining to hear the inappropriate music or eyeing other teenagers' cell phones with envy... not that that's indicative of a secret desire to rebel that may come to light during the course of the curse.
