Hiatus...

Ugh. I hate my computer sometimes, I really do...

For some reason, the wireless card in my computer isn't working...at least, I think that's it...I've tried resetting, using an ethernet cable, restarting, all that, but I just can't connect to the internet on my compy. I had to use my phone to post this...
But yeah, something is wrong, SO. Calling a hiatus for an unknown period of time until I fix this. Godmodding rights to the HINaBN crew, and I hope I'm back soon...

...nobody here might know what's wrong/how to fix it, would they...?

EDIT: The specific error is 'error 1068: the dependency service or group failed to start.' I'm on Vista, anybody who can help, please do!

Hmm. Have you tried contacting your internet provider?

Seconding Mal's suggestion. Are there no other available networks with internet for you to test the comp?

Either way hope you can get it fixed soon ;-;

Are you on Vista? Because if you're getting the dependency service message I think that's a system error .__.

Can you check your email? Just sent you something that might help.

The first solution seems to work the best for most people, the TCP/IP stack one.

Mmmmmm....guacamole....

Here you go! I wish poly was easier to get on my phone that email |D

"I had the same issue and as it turns out, the issue is caused by a corruption in the TCP/IP Stack

To fix, you will need to run a command prompt as administrator

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt (Right-Click and Run as Administrator)

At the command Prompt type : netsh winsock reset

Ignore all errors, restart and voila"

I wish I could help more ;___; I hope you get the right fix soon.

Glad to have you back already!

Oh nooo, I hate computer problems! I wish I could help, but I know as much about computers as a goldfish. D: Good luck fixing it!

I have no idea if this will help or not, as I chalk this up entirely to Google-Fu, but sources seem to indicate it might be a side effect of the Baggle virus?

Anyway, I found these instructions which supposedly worked, so...worth a shot, maybe?

--------

RESOLVED!

Bagle turns off NDIS in the registry. Here's how to get it back to working:

1. Open regedit. Backup registry
2. go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM / CurrentControlSet / Services / Ndisuio
3. Look at the "Start" entry. If that is set to 4, then that is your problem. Change it to 3.
4. go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM / CurrentControlSet002 / Services / Ndisuio
5. Again, if the "Start" entry is set to 4, change it to 3.
6. Close Regedit.
7. Reboot computer
8. go into network connections. disable the wireless for a minute, then re-enable it.

It's always a bitch when that kind of thing happens. Up until now, my PC's internet-less so I'm perpetually using a laptop. ;o; Hope you get it fixed soon! I wish I can help, though. >:
