What symptoms will they have?: Rapunzel's going to be slowly fading out of existance, because there doesn't seem to be a lot of those cases, and it's just so interesting! Because her hair and the magic connected to it has defined such a huge part of her life, I think (if it's allowed, of course), that she'd start fading from the hair down. Her hair would lose its magic and turn brown, and then it would start falling out. Right as it starts to fall out, Rapunzel will start to have trouble interacting with physical objects, and her voice will slowly fade until she can barely speak anymore. She'll flicker in and our of existance, slowly become transparent, until eventually, she fades away completely, and is essentially left as a ghost, unable to interact with anybody phyisically, barely able to speak. I'm 100% okay with people forgetting her, too (just talk to me first so I know what's going on with that)! If the whole 'losing her magic and then her hair' thing isn't okay, then she'd just start losing her voice and her ability to touch things (she'd be holding something one moment, then she'd fritz out of existance and it would just fall out of her grasp) and go downhill from there.
What will their essence rite will be?: Rapunzel's whole existence is owed to a magical golden flower that saved the life of her mother when she was pregnant with Punzie. It's what gave her the magic hair, and if it saved her life once, it'll do it again. To restore Rapunzel, you'll need to find a very specific (and very rare) magic flower and sing a very specific song to it. The flower will be located somewhere in the gardens of Xanadu. You'll also want to do this in a room filled with Rapunzel's paintings (one of the other things that really makes her her). So. Find the magic flower, replant it in a pot, take it to Rapunzel's room (which is filled with paintings and murals), and sing the healing song to it! Simple as that!
What is the dream hinting (or outright telling) helpers about the essence rite like?: Rapunzel will appear, singing the healing incantation. You'll need to pay attention to the lyrics, as once she sings them, they won't be repeated again. Once she's finished singing, the melody of the song will continue to echo throughout the dream, as Rapunzel's body shifts into a drop of sunlight, which will fall from the sky and land somewhere in Xanadu, blossoming into a golden flower. SomeofPunzie'spaintings (more of which can be found here for reference) will briefly appear, illuminated by the light coming from the golden flower. Then, everything will fade to dark; the melody will linger for a moment longer before it also fades.
Are you open to anyone performing the essence rite?: Sure! I'd prefer it to be one of Rapunzel's friends, or somebody she's interacted with in the City and seems to like (which is sort of a broad category but whatever), but I'm honestly open to anybody getting involved and helping out/preforming the ritual.
