HMD
Just to say, I missed HMD as my grandmother had a serious accident on friday morning. I'm not posting there at this point, but I have a constant crit thing here and if anyone posts a question they didn't get to ask then I'm happy to make it public.

I'll try and be around this weekend.

Sparrow

One day, Tam took a look at her [livejournal.com profile] shiverandsing , [livejournal.com profile] calculusdragon , and [livejournal.com profile] lookjustlike and went, "Hmm, these characters are not strange enough! These canons are not obscure enough! I did not have nearly enough trouble finding PBs/icons!" And so she apped Sparrow from Bone Dance by Emma Bull, the end.

Okay, so, what really happened is the character got in my head as soon as I started to read the book and refused to leave despite all obstacles. Sparrow is from a fairly near-future post-apocalyptic world. The adjustment shouldn't be too hard considering Sparrow's home city is called the City (though it is really Minneapolis) and Sparrow's destiny is normally under the influence of meddling supernatural beings. While often distant and annoyingly mysterious, Sparrow is good at heart and an utter technophile with a surprising amount of snark hidden beneath the surface.

I'll make my intro post Tuesday, so as to avoid 4th walling. Sparrow's going to be arriving during a rather unfortunate moment, so I would like to arrange whoever is going to remove the handcuffs ahead of time.

FYI Sparrow does not dress like Ra from Stargate but the PB is a pretty good match for physical appearance, including the long hair. And I suggest you read the notes under the cut if you plan to interact with Sparrow--it's important and sort of obvious here but technically a spoiler, so if by some strange coincidence you were about to read the book , don't look.
