Hi all, this is Mai - Mun to Rain [livejournal.com profile] livingmyths - with my second character.

Please hover and add [livejournal.com profile] coyote_walking, also known as Mercy Thompson from the Mercy Thompson Series by Patricia Briggs, and oh boy do I recommend you pick them up to read!

For those of you who have read the books, I'm taking Mercy from just after the first book, Moon Called, which gives me lots of opportunities for updating.

Some things you should know about Mercy...

Mercy is a walker. That means she's able to shift into a coyote at will. She's not tied to the phase of the moon and doesn't need to change, though she doesn't feel quite herself if she goes too long without it. In her coyote shape she's faster than a werewolf and has enhanced smell and hearing that carries over somewhat into her human shape. She can tell someone's emotions from their scent in either form and can also tell whether they're lying from their scent. She is stronger than the average human, though not as strong as a were. Silver doesn't harm her, but she also doesn't have the accelerated healing that werewolves have.

She has some immunity to vampire magic and it's hinted at that 'walkers' were somehow dangerous to vampires, which is why the vamps worked hard to eliminate all of them. As far as Mercy knows she's the only one.

She is also able to see and talk to ghosts and has some limited ability to influence them.

In terms of more mundane abilities, she's a great mechanic, specializing in Volkswagens and other German made cars. She's studied martial arts for the past five years, specifically Shi Kei Kai Kan - designed for soliders dealing with multiple opponents - and has earned a purple belt in it. She's a good shot and knows how to make her own bullets. She also knows how to pick locks.

All of which makes her a wonderfully kick-ass character whom I'm very excited about playing. She'll be arriving in the City either later today or tomorrow - depending on how insane my evening gets.

Going to have to take a small hiatus. Home life is rather dismal at the moment and I'm having trouble getting motivated, and it's unfair to lay around with tags piling up in my inbox.  Hopefully this will be over soon enough and I won't have to drop Poly or any of my other communities, which I really do not want to do... I'm really sorry, guys. I'll try to be back again asap.

I know, I know, it's been forever, but I finally got some antibiotics today (why did it take so long good grief) so I'm on the road to recovery. I'm getting better! [livejournal.com profile] seasidesky will be back in no time, just give my immune system a chance... watch this while you wait! I'll catch up in a minute! /winded runner

GET IN, LOSER. WE'RE GOING SHOPPING.

Starting Friday I will be zipping off to the beach with [livejournal.com profile] roseofseingald! And tomorrow I'll be packing/hanging out with this disgusting slut so tags may be rather slow. But I definitely won't have access to the internet this weekend... or if I do, it'll be extremely limited.

God-modding rights go to respective crew members.

This affects:
Kaoru Hitachiin // [livejournal.com profile] ourdenouement

Attention friends of [personal profile] rachel and [livejournal.com profile] phasedcat!!

Meg and I are fashionably late for starting our own party log. For those of you who may not watch [livejournal.com profile] tampered with the rapt attention it deserves (you know who you are) the log will be over there shortly if it's not already.

Like all party logs in Poly tradition, the backtagging will be epic... enjoy!

Edited to add: LINKAGE! (And don't forget to let party goers know if your thread is open or closed.)
