Sooo as mentioned here, the Young Avengers are going home for a canon update as of now (Thursday Dec 18th, evening). We'll be updating to Marvelverse 2008, ie after Secret Invasion. If you've read the last issue, you'll have noticed they have a little scene there so we'll be taking them from slightly after that. And, uh, I guess that means a bit of a spoilers warning to the rest of y'all who haven't gotten that far in your readings yet. ~~If you want torrents or uploads I can provide~~~

/...slides in like she's been here all along, and tagging around the game EXCEPT SHE HASN'T BAAAAAW

Every winter break, 8 out of 10 Korean kids gets stuck in their parents small retail shop against their will. This does not exclude me, though I kind of wish it did LMAO. I will be working dawn to dusk, so my hours online will be limited.

This affects Nara Shikamaru (

plsgtfo) and Bak Chan (

isastalker) until December 25th baaaw. I will be tagging relevant posts and the like but I will be ever so painfully slow and irregular. But! I've never dropped a tag on my part before, and I don't intend to start now.

As for the Naruto crew and DGM crew, the plot closeup post... should be posted tomorrow... ... right... right???

I'm off to a place where cell reception is sketchy, cable isn't available, and people like my parents still use wood as their primary means of heat. Therefore, a hiatus is in order through 12/29.

Brief Hiatus

I'm heading to Birmingham this evening to spend time with my goddaughter's family and see Avenue Q. And therefore will not have much in the way of internet access. So, calling a brief hiatus from Friday evening to Sunday evening EST.

Semi-Hiatus

Hey Poly. It's Joly. :D

Finally calling a semi-hiatus (to full? Not rly sure) today until... the 27th? Since I'm missing posts and failing at tagging around as often again. Must be the coming of holidays. I'll be having relatives over for most of the Christmas week, so I'm likely be spending less time on the internets. I might toss up two last posts for Fuuko and Rika before I poof tonight. I'll still be around though... just not as much. 8D; If you really need me, e-mail me. Messengers aren't a good idea. ~~Scary.~~

Hiatus Note!

And...switching to full-hiatus starting December 21st until December 27th.

Below are who has rights to each of my characters and what presents my characters are giving to who for Christmas while I'm gone.

ALCOHOL UNITS: OH, INNUMERABLE. OFF TO A V. BAD START.

All right, guys. I know I said no more, but... I lied. I do that sometimes. Sarah here (Jack Bourdain, Rodney McKay, and Dawn Summers's player) bringing yet another new character into the City.

Please offer vodka and Chaka Khan to Bridget Jones, late of London and actually having a boyfriend who will not a) cheat on her with an American, b) beat her senseless with a dildo while wearing an angora crop top, c) be Scottish and married, d) turn out to be gay, or e) all of the above. She will be most upset about this reversal of fortune, City.

I'll be bringing her in... hopefully today because I'm really excited for this, but I am also sick as a dog so it may not be until a bit later.

Half of a Good Omens Mini-Plot

Heyo! Aziraphale and Crowley have made a a bit of a bet regarding the holiday season.

Alms will be posting with the particulars of Aziraphale's side of this mini-plot; I'll take care of Crowley's here.

This is completely voluntary event taking place on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. This doesn't require sign-ups unless you're looking for a particular bit of personalized mayhem, which I'm happy to work with you on. If you do participate, you'd be doing me a huge favor if you'd drop me a link to your character's post here, but you don't have to do that, either.

So what's up?

Muttered Curses
Crowley is a craftsman, true enough, but he's fond of ripple effects. The personal touch has its place, but he's all about the bang for the buck, or pounding per pound if you prefer. If he can annoy you to the point that you snap at your friend, don't give a coin to a homeless person, or kick your neighbor's dog, he considers it a bad job well done.

During the holiday season, how better to do that than the traditional woes that face holiday shoppers?

Queuing quandry: We've all done it. The queues are long, the registers are hopping, and you're there with an arm full of goodies trying to judge which line will move fastest. What if you judge wrong? Every. Single. Time? In the grocer, in the hairdresser, out to the toy store. Every time you get in line, it's the wrong one? Somewhere, there's a chuckling demon. Do share and enjoy.
Lost in the cabbage patch with Elmo: You want it. Your friend/lover/kid wants it. Everyone wants it. You go from store to store to store to store searching for that perfect gift and everywhere you go, they just sold the last one. You're ready to hock a kidney for that perfect gift and getting more and more stressed with every minute.

What? You thought that was just supply and demand? Maybe when you have a demon who knows his way around a computer managing the supply chain.
Black ice: If you live in a cold clime, you've run into it, or more accurately, fallen on your ass on it. Was there a demon wandering the City pouring water on sidewalks and sweeping a bit of snow over it? Could be. And it could be that your character wanders across it, slips, falls, and has a nice bruise to set the tenor of the rest of their day. Oops. Spread that love.

And so on. If there's some sort of headmessy you'd like visited upon your character by a prankster demon, just let me know and we can work something out one on one.

poly's grumpy fantasy heroine count: *increases by one*

Hello! This is Todd (

deconcentrate) here. I am new! And I am playing a character that no one here probably even knows sob.

Anyway. This is Vin! She's from the Mistborn book trilogy, and specifically from a few months after the end of the first book, The Final Empire. A few things you should know about Vin: she is on the scrawny and tiny side of things, she used to be part of a skaa (read: slave) thieving crew, she is PALE AS A GHOST, and given inclination and the necessary materials she can punch a hole in a wall, or you. Yes, yes, she's another tiny weapon of mass destruction. DO NOT WORRY, her access to the aforementioned "necessary materials" is quite limited and she doesn't have much on her, so there will not be much of this kind of thing involved.

Instead, you'll get to deal with her charming personality, which is best summed up as being v. dry and not so much with the kind, sensitive sort of humor, because Vin did not have much in the way of a kind, sensitive upbringing. When your father was legally obligated to kill you and your mother was crazy and oh yeah your brother beat you because he loved you, there is not so much of the sensitivity involved, no. It's a miracle Vin actually doesn't hate everyone. But seriously, she's nice, she's just ... perpetually :|-faced.

Also, where she's from the world is perpetually covered in ash and mist and the sun is red. So she'll be freaking out about the lack of soot and the sunlight for a while. Hopefully, you crazy kids can cope with that.

I've already put up her first post for anyone who wants to tag her, but my replies miiight get a bit slow as the day wears on. I hope not, but I'm RPing and writing fic at the same time so we'll see.

hiatusthing

So. Looks like the parents have thwarted me. I'll be taking an actual hiatus.

Not for long, mind! But my family is generally not one for snow, and so we're solving this by heading out... somewhere to this hotel that has an indoor water park. Yeah. I don't know. It just does. I'm not complaining.

But this also means, almost certainly, that I will be without internet for two days, because internets at hotels are rarely free, and my parents hate what the internet does to me anyway. Sob.

Thus, unless the net is free, FULL HIATUS for this weekend, December 20-21.

(You have no idea how sad I am that I'm missing Christmas Present. Ping me if backdatings are wanteddd.)

Eden McCain: Will be sticking around Mohinder's apartment, possibly scoping out the Underground now and again. Rights to Mohinder, Claire.
Hermione Granger: Will be going home for a canon update, supposedly leaving the cabin on noon on Saturday to go shopping, but being shoved back to HPverse again. Will be updated to just after Ron's return in Deathly Hallows, sooo... watch out.
Nakamura Hiro: Squatting in various apartments with Shiro until Toshiko's place is ready. Rights to Shiro, Toshiko.
Sam Winchester: Will be going home for a canon update with his brother, and will return post-Yellow Fever with Dean. Impala rights to cheerleader. Laptop rights to Ruby. Apartment + dog rights to Dawn with instructions not to let the dog die or touch anything that looks dangerous.
Scar: Around. Since Simba-mun is also hiatus'd, no rights given.
Spike Spiegel: IS NOT IN THE CITY YET. Will be introduced after I get back, presumably. Imaginary rights to Faye.
Tavi: Around. Will randomly build a boat. Since Kitai-mun is Simba-mun, no rights given.

=3 It's that time again...yus. The mountain is tall and snowy and likely covered in all kinds of animals I never wanted to run into, not to mention the people. In addition the wildlife and so on, there is the addition of bad internet, or the minus of good, whichever. Supposing I have it, I shall be on because you know I fail at the hiatus, but even then it will be late at night, East Coast Zone, oh yes--and probably comprised of sporadic tagging at most. Hello all, my name is Athena, but most people just call me Athy. I'm brandy new to your game and I'm bringing with me a one Himura Kenji from the Rurouni Kenshin series.

He is Kenshin and Kaoru's asshole son from the future~

Kenji is pretty much a bratty, arrogant genius and a good old fashioned cynical bastard. Though like his father, he does have his goofy moments ~~that he will deny to his dying day~~ and he's something of a mama's boy.

...And here comes the other side of that bet. >D Signups aren't required for me, either, but I would also be much obliged if you'd drop me a note and/or a link if you're going to participate... easier to keep track of who's winning that way, eh? >D

So!~ This Saturday, Sunday or Monday, if you'd like, your characters are welcome to experience some Small Miracles, courtesy of the angel!

Aziraphale is inclined to give his miracles a personal touch, so they're likely to be suited to the specific situation. You're more than welcome to assume the interaction, since I know a lot of people are on tight schedules this time of year! Though if you'd like to play them out feel free to poke me on AIM [cold dry pieces], or via e-mail [tygrei (at) aol.com], and I'm sure we can set something up. Basically, they're just small moments of brightness in your day, to boost the City's level of cheer and goodwill to man and thwart Crowley's scheming. For example...

▪ Left your shopping til the last minute and afraid that PERFECT gift is sold out? It turns out there's one left when you get there, and it's on sale too!

▪ Cold and lonely and homesick? You might just stumble across some little memento of your own world-- nothing large or flashy, but very familiar. A snowglobe of your own city? A Christmas ornament just like the one your mom hung up every year? These should be plain, everyday items-- no magic trinkets or secret weapons, just little baubles to brighten your day. Think stuff you could pick up in your local K-Mart. ♥

▪ Stopping by the Cafe for your morning coffee? Turns out the patron ahead of you paid for your drink in advance. Also, there's a candy cane with it for you. Because, let's face it, they're traditional, aren't they?

▪ For our younger Citizens, or anyone who's feeling a little dispirited about the questionable existence of Father Christmas-- or a little disturbed by some of the weird stories going around-- you might catch a glimpse of a jolly ~~angel~~ fellow in red doing his Christmas shopping... since, of course, all those toys had to come from somewhere...

Mici here with...another...original character [sob]. I'm a little addicted, okay? I have problems.

Please welcome Melancholy Hope (though he goes by Lan); I hope you've been dying to meet part of the wind because he just came into the City. That said:

A: He likes to mess around.
B: He doesn't have air magic - he is the wind.
C: HE JUST WANTS EVERYONE TO LIKE HIM.

Also - if you're a mage, mutant, wizard, etc. etc. who has air magic/powers, you might feel a little...boosted by his presence. Questions can be directed to me~! He'll come in tomorrow.

Hiatus until... sometime D:

Hey folks~

Just a heads-up that I'm going to be pretty inactive for a while. My stepfather's in the hospital and not doing well at all, so my mom needs a lot of help with my three smaller siblings right now. We don't really know how he's going to be doing in the near-future, so in case this takes me out for a while, this is just so you all know.
