Di here. And no, I didn't app Scar, as awesome as I think a crew for TLK would be-- it's just my personal journal. Unfortunately, not hopping on the bandwagon for NDK either. Rather, I'm headed for good old Cambridge (US version!) to get back to college. Headed tomorrow night, actually-- been putting this off because I just can't quit you, Poly.

This means HIATUS for... the rest of the month. I'll probably be around, peeking at Poly, but unless people schedule ahead of time with me, I might miss things.

Not going to pull any of my kids out of the City, but permissions are as follows.

I will be around for some time tomorrow, so if posts had shout-outs, I'll hit them before I leave, but I request that people try to refrain from shout-outs to my characters while I'm gone unless necessary. I'm also going to try to get City Academy stuff sort of up and about it possible by tomorrow, so yeah.

Do to... well, their pretty much constant antagonistic relationship, canon events, and THE LAST STRAW [tm] Cirucci Thunderwitch [thunderwitch] and Ishida Uryu [anti_buttons] will be recreating their FINAL BATTLE [tm] above the rooftops tonight, approximately 9pm EST. Cirucci will post right before then, so anyone interested in mentioning or participating in the following can watch for that post for the go ahead.

The damage isn't anything to panic about, but you can expect falling debris, which could possibly cause injury, from ow, bumps, to concussions and the fun stuff, but only if you want to do that with your character. You get chunks of brick and the like, maybe some metal piping and pieces from the roof decor, as well as the lovely sight of the fight in the sky above.

Anyone aware of spiritual activity will be able to feel that going full blast, until one of the two signals abruptly cuts off in to absolutely nothing. Saketsu chain, ow. D| Ishida, you so mean.

Oh god. It hurts to sit up, and I feel like I have the black plague. You may have noticed I dropped tags majorly recently--I don't think I can keep up right now. I'm calling a semi-hiatus for fun_in_here, compactcrucifix, bellsandleather and is_fear_itself. It'll last maybe a week, depending on when the bug goes away.

Hey! Lauren here. I think you guys have already heard about Hurricane Ike heading towards the Gulf Coast right now. Although Houston is actually my hometown, I'm away for college a little further inland.

However, because Ike is such a ginormous beast there's still a good chance I'll be looking at some heavy rains and some pretty powerful winds. There's a possibility--a fairly good one--that my power could get knocked out at some point this weekend! Since the weather channel is currently predicting rain well into... Monday... if it does get knocked out, it could be a while before we get power again. So this is a cautionary possible-unofficial-hiatus heads-up kinda thingie. 8D;;; ♥

Brocklehurst isn't coming back to work. Palace employees can be thrown into a tizzy. Fortunately Styles mun and I already have plans for how to handle the Palace, and the pets, and the joint bank accounts. The Palace will first officially fall under Styles' ownership but the employees are free to quit or stay on board till the plans unveil themselves in gameplay. Brocklehurst had a great run guys, a whole year of it, and I'll miss him. WATCH THE STATE WITHIN ♥

So schools making me want to die less now so I figure that Keller and Steven might as well come back to play. Tis all.

Ok, so.... tentative return from hiatus. Things are calmed down somewhat, but honestly I'm not sure for how long. Stuff with my dad is still up in the air...

SO! Characters returning with me (not that they actually left, but anywho):

So, me being Yay Art and all, I decided to go off and draw some userpics for my soon-to-enter-Poly OC (I just need to patch up the journal and add friends and such). Couldn't be that bad, right? 

Except it turns out that the way I draw stuff lends itself to HUGE pics. I usually pain 18x24 inch stuff in Photoshop. This, as you can imagine, does not lend itself well to me trying to shrink it to 100x100 pixels. All the detail gets lost, even if it's supposed to be a portrait. (Makes me wonder how the realistic characters like Hiro Nakamura do their userpics.) So what ends up happening is a fuzzy something that no one can quite tell what it's supposed to be. I can't draw anime-style to save my skin, even though I know the big eyes and simple, cel-shaded detail would lend themselves well to shrinking (because then you can still see features). And Google Images is failing me on finding someone who looks close enough to my OC to use a stock photo of. I can't draw photo-realistically enough to make my own, and I can't photomanipulate either. Never done it.

...Anyone have suggestions on what to do? I wasn't quite expecting this. >< I figured my art would work.

Anyway, Thorn here with her second character: Tyki Mikk from D.Gray-Man. He has a fondness for carnivorous butterflies, family, and hard-to-kill people. In his spare time, he's a hobo who cheats at poker. Yes, really.

He'll be making his entrance into the City as soon as I, um, re-read the manga. So, tomorrow.

Edit: Canonically, Tyki's driven by instinct to destroy holy things from his universe. (That's 'created by a god', not 'blessed by priests'. He could care less about priests.) This time around, he'll have a similar reaction to god-made objects/beings from other universes. So, angels? Demons? Holy things? Sometime in this incarnation, he'd like to... chat.
