Okay, so I just realized that I have finals coming up on Monday, so I figured I'd better do this sooner than later.

This is pretty much a less active, sort of semi-hiatus notice until April 18th. I'll still be around to finish up those logs that I need to do and around on AIM if you need me ♥

Erin again with yet another new character!

This time I am bringing in Mat Cauthon from the Wheel of Time. He is one of the main characters from the series and has extremely good luck. (Be careful playing dice games with him...he'll win.) This good luck grows as the chances become more random. Because of this, he has become a very accomplished gambler.

Mat loves gambling, drinking, dancing, and being with a pretty girl. He also swears often though in his canon it comes off differently. Feel free to teach him a new vocabulary. On the flip side, he is wary of all magic and fully believes it can come to no good. Still, he is very loyal to friends and is even friends with several in his world who wield the One Power (his canon version of magic).

He'll be upset when he arrives since he came here in the middle of having a building fall on him during A Crown of Swords. Please take care of him!

Since I've been wanting to do something cool with Greed for awhile, I've decided to have him start his own business. After a little bit of set-up, he'll be opening his own business in the City. It's a lot like the casino in the underground, but right out in the open. It's going to have the works. Fine dining, gambling, an open bar, and even a little prize fighting ring underneath for the high rollers.

As a result, he'll have to scout the City for some talent to fill up working positions. There will be prerequisite NPC's of course, but considering some of the customers it might behoove him to have some super-human staff as well. Especially if and when trouble starts.

Does anyone want to volunteer a character who doesn't have a job or wants to change jobs?

It'll take a few days for Greed to set it all up, as he just needs to gather a bit more money.

All right, I will be in Pittsburgh all weekend on a college visit. Thus, hiatus until Monday. I may or may not be online tomorrow, so I'm posting this today :).

hmm... Tower!Riff will just be around, trying to balance not acting suspicious with getting away with doing as little work as possible  - but feel free to mention in posts that you think he doesn't seem quite like Riff, or even to invent specific instances of OOCness. You might also note the faint but constant smell of tobacco. Certain people who may have been tipped off about him can take this time to confirm their suspicions and await the incoming trauma :P.

So a little more than a month and a half ago, I picked up John Constantine here. Problem was, at that point, I hadn't read any Hellblazer in months. I was doing the "applying for and RPing this character is practically second nature to me now, I don't need to refresh myself on his canon before starting him up somewhere new!" dance. And while I didn't crash and burn as badly as I could have, I did kind of...fumble his continuity a little bit in the beginning. By which I mean, a lot. Y'know how I couldn't seem to decide whether he was 41 or 42, whether he came from 1994 or 1995, or just what exactly he'd been doing before showing up? Yeah. That.

Now, I still have no desire to canon update him entirely. ( Tangent about why I insist on playing him from thirteen years back in his canon, sheesh. )However! I'd like to fix up his currently rather disorganized timeline and make it clear when he's coming from. In that interest, I'm sending him back to London (or, well...to London for now, even though he's just come back from Africa and America, and then he's going to run off to Australia...don't ask). He will be there for just a few months before clawing his way back to the City: sure, London's home, but he has unfinished business here, thank you. When he comes back, he will have a definitive canon cut-off point: shortly before Hellblazer #92. Now, it's hard to put a date on this for sure, but based on certain environmental cues both in that issue and the ones preceding it, I'm going to say that...it's April of 1995. So he'll be synchronized with City time in everything except for the year.

John will be disappearing from the City sometime tomorrow afternoon--probably in mid-comment-thread, so keep an eye out--and returning within a week.

Meanwhile, I'll be using this time to get Azula settled in and Omar...more active, I hope. In the interest of the latter goal, please check out this post if you haven't already. I've been somewhat inactive the past few days, but I should be up to starting some of that activity now. And I still haven't done any logs at all with Omar and would be happy to fix that. Not necessarily with violence! Just, you know...probably. It's a lifestyle thing.

The long and the short of it is, I'm going to take Isshin (daddylove) onto a hiatus for a little while.

My hopes are that after a few days I'll be re-energized towards playing him again and will do some rereading of early Bleach and maybe he'll show up in this week's chapter??? But I love Bleach crew and I don't want to drop him again, so I'm going to try to get his muse back ASAP. DDD: This might result in another drop, but I'm going to do my best to revive him in my brain and heart. ♥

For the duration of this hiatus, the Kurosaki family and Honorary Members Tatsuki and Rukia are free to godmod. I'll make another post if I decide to friend remove.

[edit] And after trying to post this entry, I remembered something else I wanted to mention: my internet is being a bitch, practically at dialup speed, so until I decide to live in the library or somewhere else with wireless my replies are going to be slow at best, until I get so frustrated with the speed at which pages are loading that I give up entirely. :/ Thanks a lot, university.
