I think technically he has a psychic predisposition towards possession by and communication with ghosts and spirits (in other words, he's sort of a medium in embryo--?), but he hasn't yet been told this--and, anyway, when he does hear this, it's from another medium whom he trusts only about as far as he can throw...so he might not ever really believe it.
