Ain't No Party Like A Murder Party!
13-14; Ain't No Party Like A Murder Party
You're on a boat, a really big boat, the kind that might run into an iceberg. Don't worry that's not happening this time, the Deities have something a little different in store to make this ship party the best (worst) party their citizens have ever had. It's like a murder mystery game but with actual murders. [Death Exemption will apply to this event, stay tuned for more information!]
This voyage is not so bon. Once everyone is settled into their rooms each and every guest receive a discrete letter from a friend sent via the Network.
My Dear ________,
There is not much time. There is a way out of this City. The price is so simple. You must take a life. That is the trick. This is a place without death. Your selected person(s) will revive without harm like always. The so called deities give you this moral dilemma. They think you will shrink away. We are forced to play their game. All this time we have been tricked. Every death is another chance. Every chance is another step home.
Now is your chance.
I understand how this seems unbelievable. This is sent to you and you alone. I know that you are smart and won't dismiss important information. I have seen you and your strife. We all make mistakes. Don't let this be one of them!
I cannot say more. Tell no one. This is your chance and your chance alone. Do everything in your power to keep this a secret.
X
It's crazy enough to work. What other options do Citizens have? With so many guests on the ship, it is anyone's game! Anyone's! There are so many guests trapped together. This is a matter of life and death. Kill or be killed!
This post can be used to organize targets. There can be two-way arrangements like Person A and Person B who wants to get at Person C. This is a two day event, why not have more than one target? "Dead" characters of Saturday revive at 11:59pm to be in on the action for Sunday. NPCs are targets as well as out to get their own way out targeting their own victims. The stakes are high in this game of death. All participants must have a target and must be a target to someone else. Even if their eyes are not on the prize, this is the great opportunity for revenge, for blood, for blowing off steam and not claiming responsibility for your actions! It just would not be a murder party without so much opportunity you see. After a character is slain, your anonymous friend so helpfully will provide another through the device. Their coding is very efficient and unhackable by anyone else. They so nicely scramble the GPS setting to prevent technology from aiding the murder spree.
Characters are encouraged to keep their dirty deeds discrete. The Deities don't know about the letter or the content. Better not draw attention to yourself or your actions! Wait until the target alone, it is a big, big ship. Or better yet make it look like an accident. She really shouldn't keep her hair dryer so close to the bathtub. And wasn't he always clumsy? Who would have known you could fall into a knife more than once?
...what's the harm to it? Not like anyone is really dying now so there is no real crime...right?

I will offer up all three of mine. Because...dude. You know you want this.
Cain Hargreaves (fond of poison)
The Man With No Name (expert shot)
Rory Fletcher (alias: Randall Flagg) (crazy motherfucking sonuvabitch)
Basically I have no plans yet, so I'd need bothsomeone for them to hunt and someone to hunt them.
COME AT ME.

The boat is, well...a boat. It'll be floating in the sea beyond the City. So any character who is not on the boat won't be involved in the murder party. The City will be the same as it always has been. The murders for this curse will only be going on aboard the ship. So you can opt out of the curse by having your character stay in the City.
The Network devices will work between the boat and the City, though, so your character can still communicate with the ones on the boat.

If you'd like her to be on the boat, she'll receive the letter and be given a target to kill. If she chooses (or if you choose) not to kill that target, that's perfectly fine. But she would still need to be targeted by someone else (whether a player character or an NPC). If you (and the other player, if applicable) so choose, she could avoid being killed due to good luck, bad timing, a last-moment appeal to the murderer's humanity, or whatever you choose. So she could be on the boat and avoid both killing and being killed, but she would still technically be a participant--she's just more like a conscientious objector with really great survival skills.
I hope that helps!

In other words, Nobori and Chandela will very begrudgingly be playing this game.

Mr. Isaak Sirko, on the other hand, has no qualms about murdering a stranger here and there, so I suppose I'll go ahead and toss him into the fray. I am willing to have him die if necessary, but be warned it won't be easy: he's paranoid and really quite good at self-defense. He might also hold a grudge, but I won't have him come after anyone later unless you'd like to explore that possibility. (Actually, thinking further, I'd rather he at least get to do some damage, so if you're looking for an easy slay with absolutely no repercussions, this is not the d00d for you.)
I would also be more than happy to have him successfully kill someone else, and even mutual destruction (or his death one day, someone else's the other) would be quite agreeable. Mutual killing especially. (Likewise. I am open to continuing feuding, though I would prefer not to actually kill him without exemption.)
I think a relative stranger would be best (plus! new CR!) since... mostly he doesn't want people knowing about his bad side... but we'll see what we can do ;3

As for killing him - the cockroach is hard to get but it's possible!

Carla Is always game to kill. She's a psychobitch. I am not offering her up to die this time though! Trying to lay off her wangst a bit, and dying always upsets her.

Meyer, Jimmy, and Andrew are all totally up for grabs, and are totally up for killing and being killed (though they're not necessarily easy targets, so that should provide some fun!) Come hunt them, or be hunted by them -- mutual killing is also great, if they want to take each other out in a blaze of glory.
Jimmy is probably my least subtle of characters. He may just walk around with a gun the whole time. The other two are far more subtle, and also might have slightly better survival instincts. If anyone wants 'em, have at 'em!

Maybe Jimmy is Pink's target? IF ONLY FOR FACE CANON TRAGEDY LULZ?

As far as killing her, I can go either way. :D So characters who would or wouldn't kill their target are both fine! Given that she's a water angel and they are all on a boat, I feel like murder methods that don't require hand to hand combat might work best for offing her, unless your character is obscenely overpowered.

BUT UH WELL, I'm gonna throw poor Rapunzel in here. She knows how to use a frying pan as a surprisingly effective weapon, and can bludgeon people with it. However, she'll probably try not to kill people, because its wrong. So she's opting out of that for now, unless she caves because it's so tempting.
:D And she's free to be murdered horribly by whoever wants to go at it!

Of course someone is open to killing her, but for real, you'll have to be very skilled to get it done.
